Organized jointly by IFEMA Madrid, Tech Show Madrid, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, the City Council and the Community of Madrid, this event positions the city as an international hub of innovation and digitization, consolidating it as the great European week of technology.

Professional and political career

(Madrid, 1978) President of the Community of Madrid since 2019, a position in which she has been re-elected on three consecutive occasions, reaching the absolute majority in 2023. She holds a degree in Journalism and a Diploma of Advanced Studies
from the Complutense University of Madrid
, and also has a Master's Degree in Political Communication and Protocol and training in Public Leadership at IESE.

She has worked in communications departments of several companies and foundations, as well as in radio stations and digital press both in Spain and abroad. Her political career began in 2005 in the Partido Popular, where she held various positions in communication and institutional management. She was elected deputy in the Assembly of Madrid in 2011, renewing her seat in 2015, 2019 and 2021. In 2015 she served as deputy spokesperson of the Popular Parliamentary Group, and in the
autonomous government she held the position of deputy minister of Presidency and Justice before being appointed president of the Community of Madrid in August 2019.

Throughout her mandate, Ayuso has stood out for driving digitalization, innovation and technological modernization policies in the Community of Madrid, with a focus on:

- Digital transformation of the public and private sector.
- Attraction of talent and technological investment to the region.

Digitalization and technological projects in the Community of Madrid

Among its main initiatives is the creation of the first Digitalization Council in Spain, a body aimed at leading digital modernization and attracting international investment. In 2023 it presented the Digitalization Strategy, a comprehensive plan that promotes the development and application of emerging technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain and virtual reality.

As part of this strategy, the "Digitaliza Madrid" Innovation Center was launched, a meeting space for companies, institutions and citizens designed to encourage participation and technological investment. The region also has the Office for the Promotion of Artificial Intelligence, aimed at strengthening public services through the use of AI. In parallel, there has been a commitment to citizen digital training, training more than 1,200 Madrileños by 2025 in key areas such as cybersecurity, digital employment and basic digital skills.

In the field of mobility, Madrid has become a national laboratory for innovation thanks to the first pioneering law on autonomous vehicles, which opens the door to the development and regulation of driverless cars. In addition, Ayuso has
consolidated Madrid as a European technology capital by announcing that the city will host Tech Week Europe 2025, and has strengthened its role as an epicenter of specialized congresses through the Tech Show Madrid at IFEMA, where the Community already organizes 44% of national technology events.

Professional and political career

José Luis Martínez-Almeida (Madrid, 1975) is a state lawyer and mayor of Madrid since 2019, after being spokesman of the Popular Party in the City Council. Re-elected in 2023 with an absolute majority, he has established himself as one of the benchmarks of municipalism in Spain. Trained in Law at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), he joined the Corps of State Lawyers in 2001 and held responsibilities in different administrations before making the leap to municipal politics.

Vision and leadership in Madrid

As mayor, Almeida has opted for a modern, sustainable and connected city model, with special attention to infrastructure, mobility and the digitalization of urban services. His administration seeks to consolidate Madrid as one of the great European capitals in terms of innovation and attracting international investment.

Strategic and digital projects

In coordination with the Community of Madrid, Almeida has promoted the positioning of the capital as the venue for major technology events:

- Tech Week Europe 2025: Madrid will be the European technology capital, hosting the week of reference in innovation and digitization.
- Madrid Tech Show (IFEMA): leading platform in the sector, where Madrid reinforces its role as organizer of almost half of the major technology congresses in Spain.

Ángel Asensio laguna

President of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and VICE CHAIRMAN OF IFEMA's Executive Committee.

Career Path

Ángel Asensio Laguna (Madrid, 1966) is an entrepreneur in the textile sector and president of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid since 2018. Trained in Business Management and Marketing (ESIC), he runs the family firm Confecciones Asensio (KIFF-KIFF brand) and has led key associations in the fashion sector, such as ASECOM and ModaEspaña.

Institutional role

In addition to chairing the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, he is Vice President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Spain), member of the Executive Committee of CEIM-
CEOE and member of CEPYME. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee and Governing Board of IFEMA Madrid, helping to consolidate the institution as an economic and innovation engine. And currently he has joined the presidency of FEDECOM (Federation of Official Chambers of Commerce of Spain in Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania).

Technological and trade fair boost

From his responsibilities, Asensio has strongly supported the attraction of major international events to Madrid, reinforcing its role as European capital of business and technology. These include:

Agustín Torres has been president of CloserStill Media España since 2023, a leading company in the organization of international trade fairs in the technology and healthcare sectors. With a degree in Contemporary History from the Universitat de Barcelona and a Master in Business Management from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, he has more than 25 years of experience in the trade fair industry, where he has created and consolidated reference events in Spain and Latin America.

Driving force behind Tech Week Europe in Madrid

Agustín Torres is the main driving force behind Tech Week Europe, which in 2025 will hold its edition in Madrid, positioning the city as the European epicenter of digitalization, artificial intelligence, big data and cybersecurity. Under his leadership, this event will bring together the most influential global players in the technology sector.

Tech Show Madrid and Infarma

He manages the organization of the Tech Show Madrid at IFEMA, which has consolidated its position as the largest technology fair in Spain and is growing by more than 40% annually. He has also strengthened the international positioning of Infarma, one of the leading European meetings in the pharmaceutical sector, which brings together thousands of professionals and companies every year.

In addition, it promotes more specialized formats with high strategic value through one-to-one events, such as eForum, LogisForum, FinanForum, among others, conceived as exclusive networking and business spaces for executives and industry leaders.

Ángel Niño Quesada (Madrid, 1983) is a computer engineer and councilman of the Madrid City Council since 2019. He currently serves as delegate of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Area, in addition to being vice president of the Board of Directors of Mercamadrid. With a background in Computer Engineering and experience in the private sector linked to digital transformation, he has established himself as one of the key figures in the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship in the capital.

Institutional role

From the Madrid City Council, he leads the policies of innovation, talent attraction and development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the city. Under his leadership, strategic projects such as the Madrid Innovation Hub, the Madrid Food Innovation Hub (the first European center specialized in food innovation), Madrid in Game (dedicated to the video game and eSports sector), as well as the SandBox Ordinance, which allows innovative solutions to be tested in a real urban environment, have been launched. Its role reinforces Madrid's positioning as an open, technological city and a benchmark for startups and scaleups.

Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso

Career Path

Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso (Bilbao, 1972) holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specializing in
Transmission and Communication, and has completed the Management Development Program at IESE. With more than 25 years of experience in the Information Technology sector and more than a decade linked to healthcare innovation, he has held positions of responsibility at Siemens, Kern Datanet, Atos, IECISA and Inetum, as well as collaborating with the Polytechnic University of Madrid on European biomedical engineering projects.

In the last legislature he served as Director General of Information Systems and Digital Health of the Community of Madrid, where he led the most ambitious digitalization of the Madrid healthcare system with projects such as the Madrid Center for Genomic Analysis, the Virtual Health Card and the incorporation of artificial intelligence in the prevention and detection of diseases.

Digitalization Department

In 2023 he became the first Digitalization Advisor of the Community of Madrid, a pioneer in Spain. From this responsibility he has designed and promoted the Digitalization Strategy, projects such as Digitaliza Madrid, the Office for the Promotion of Artificial Intelligence and the implementation of innovation clusters in quantum computing, blockchain, IoT and emerging technologies, placing Madrid at the European forefront of digital transformation.

Support to Tech Week Europe and Tech Show Madrid

Under his leadership, the Department of Digitalization has become a strategic ally for the celebration of major technological events in Madrid, such as Tech Week Europe 2025 andTech Show Madrid, which consolidate the capital as a hub for innovation, digitalization and talent attraction. Manuel Pérez Gómez

Vice-Minister of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid

Career Path

Manuel Pérez Gómez holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a diploma in Political Science and Constitutional Law from the Centro de Estudios Constitucionales. Member of the Madrid Bar Association since 1984, he has been a member of the Senior Corps of Civil Administrators of the State since 1989.

From his entry into the public sector until 2007 he specialized in migration issues, holding positions of high responsibility as general director of Immigration and Immigration in the Ministry of the Interior and general technical secretary of the Department of Immigration of the Community of Madrid. From 2007 he developed his work in the educational field of the Community of Madrid, where he was Technical General Secretary, Deputy Minister of Educational Organization and Minister of Education. Subsequently, since 2015, he served as technical advisor in different Ministries, the last of them in the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment. At the same time, he has been a teacher in training programs for public employees and has received important distinctions such as the Order of Civil Merit, the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort and the Order of Police Merit.

Vice-Ministry of Digitalization

On July 3, 2024 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid, replacing Silvia Roldán. From this position he collaborates with the counselor in the preparation, direction and development of public policies in the area, with competencies in digital transformation, technological innovation and cybersecurity.

Among the outstanding projects under his management are the improvement of the Virtual Health Card, the INNOVA project to digitize more than 1,450 administrative procedures, the creation of the Single Social History, the Digital Account application that centralizes more than 150 public services, and the launch of the Cybersecurity Agency of the Community of Madrid. His vision is clear: the administration of the future must be at the service of the citizen thanks to digitalization.
